First things first: Brand new episodes of The Pioneer Woman start on Food Network this Saturday morning! We’ve been putting together some super fun shows, and I think you’ll love this one. It’s “A Tale of Four Lunches” and features four different lunchtimes in the life of the Drummond family. Paige and I make a salad, I take my father-in-law Chuck (yay, Chuck!) an enormous burger (wait till you see what’s on this thing), and I whip up a couple of other things, too. Hope you enjoy this episode. Lunch is my favorite meal!
Breakfast is my favorite meal, too.
And dinner isn’t half bad, either.
Snacks are also nice.
Anyway, since Alex left for college last fall, Paige and I have had to stick together more and more. Where she and Alex used to be “the pair,” Paige and I have now become buddies…well, as much as a 16-year-old girl can be buddies with her mama. It can turn on a dime! (I was a 16-year-old girl once.) But it’s been nice getting to spend time with my second baby more and more. She’s strong and creative…and she’s only a sophomore, which means I’ll have her for another thirty years, right?
(I remember the moment I had that same thought about Alex. Two minutes later, she was in college!)
I have a couple of Paige videos to share with you. The first is the hot chocolate she and I made this week. We had similar hot chocolate this winter in Colorado, and it was so fun to recreate it on the ranch:
I need a moment.
Okay, I’m back. The second (short) video is a scene I captured last week when Paige was cuddling with Charles. She and I were talking about how he’s getting on in years, and she said she can’t imagine a day when Charlie isn’t with us. (Sniff.)
Then she launched into this.
I’m going to go cry (and drink some hot chocolate) now. The two things go beautifully together!
