Stop and Smell the Sunflowers by Ree

I first shared this sunflower from my garden a couple of years ago, but when I came across it this morning, it made me smile. Especially considering there’s currently a very large, extremely unsightly cow patty in the exact spot where this beautiful flower once proudly stood. The symbolism of this is troubling. To me, it can only mean one of four things:

1. Just when you think life is going beautifully, something will come along to stink it up.

Nope. Way too pessimistic for me.

2. You have to experience the bad to appreciate the good.

Hmmm. I’ll give this a little more credence than #1. But still not feeling it.

3. Stand proud while you can. Because when you no longer can, you won’t.

This makes absolutely no sense.

4. We live on a cattle ranch and need to fix the cattle guard near our driveway.

Bingo! I love it when I’m able to get to the root of things!

(I’ve always been really deep and analytical in that way.)
